Unfortunately, in some counties, the court and prosecutor don't care. In other counties, the prosecutor and court will allow you to attempt to sell the vehicle prior to the seizure. 

However, once a vehicle is seized and forfeited there are specific rules as to how the proceeds from the vehicle will be divided.  In most instances where there is money owed on a vehicle, there is never enough to entirely pay back the loan.
